Net Zero operational emissions
Our goal is Net Zero operational (Scope 1 & 2) emissions by 2030, and by January 2026, we’ll be 85% of the way there, helping create a cleaner, more sustainable future for our passengers and community.
We also power our operations with 100% renewable electricity by matching the electricity we use with renewable certificates, helping to offset emissions.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
Support the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and advocate for a domestic renewable fuels industry. In May 2025, we helped import almost 2 million litres of SAF - the largest in Australian history.
Reducing and offsetting emissions
Plans to eliminate our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions through reduction measures and offsetting residual emissions.

Apply sustainability standards to airport buildings and infrastructure projects.
Sustainable transport
Support sustainable transport options and incentivise the use of more efficient aircraft.

100% renewable electricity
Airport operations powered by equivalent of 100% renewable electricity.
Reducing electricity consumption
Energy efficiency projects (lighting, heating, ventilation and cooling).
Renewable gas supply
Gas efficiency initiatives and exploring options to degasify or contract renewable gas supply through renewable gas certificates.
Expanding electric vehicle fleet
Converting light service vehicles to electric (EVs).
Decarbonising bus fleet
Exploring decarbonising bus fleet.
